Holding Myself Accountable

Holding Myself Accountable

Jul 18

If you’ve visited this website before you’ve probably seen it in many guises, with lots of different content. Well today I just loaded up the WordPress Dashboard and deleted it all! Why? Because Seven Somewhere is now going to be the home of my personal journal – the place where I will hold myself accountable in my efforts to make money online run an internet marketing business.

I’ve been dabbling in internet marketing for a few months now – well seven actually – and in that time I have spent far too much money on courses that promise to make me a millionaire over night. I’ve trawled my way through so much junk about making money online – but I have been lucky to come across a few golden nuggets along the way. So from here on in I am going to stop wasting time looking for the Magic Code and start actually working on my business.

Here’s a quick run down of my business models…

The Silent Sales Machine

This model is courtesy of Niche Profit Classroom – a membership site that takes you through a business model based on an autoresponder mini course which then encourages people to buy your information product.

The membership area has a classroom with all the videos you need to take you through the business model step by step. They also provide a great WordPress theme, a keyword tool and other useful tools and tips.

The best bit by far though is a forum – where like-minded people following the same business model are there to help you out. Its a sort of ‘let’s learn this together’ mentality. Keep an eye out for gkg1 (George – the most helpful and knowledgeable) and Banjob33 (Helen – the friendliest and full of great ideas) oh and sevensomewhere (me of course!).

If you’re interested in learning more about the model then sign up for the list at www.nicheprofitclassroom.com as they send out some fantastic free videos – then when you’re ready you can sign up for the membership course itself.

I now have three sites set up using the NPC model and have plans to build more over the coming months. In some cases I have my own information products and in others I simply refer to affiliate products.

ReviewAZON meets Info Product Killer

My other business model is based around the Amazon affiliate programme. Last year I signed up for Info Profit Killer (IPK) and learnt all about how to make money from Amazon over the Christmas holidays. I was a bit late getting started and only walked away with just over $100 in earnings – but I could see how powerful a model IPK was.

This year I’ve started building my Christmas sites already so that Google has time to get to know and love them ;) I’ve also extended the IPK model to other websites using an amazing plugin called ReviewAZON. This one is built by a guy called Brad – who I can’t speak highly enough of – and it allows you to call product information, including prices and reviews, direct from Amazon at the click of a button.

I use it on my Book Reviews site to make the content more valuable for my readers – but I’ve also set up a few ‘stores’ which Google seems to love. Unusually for this kind of software Brad only sells a multi-site licence for a ridiculously low price – it paid for itself in next to no time!

Google Adsense

Where would I be without Google Adsense? It’s the programme that got me hooked on this Internet Marketing thing in the first place – and is the one constant income line I have which has funded my ‘learning’ over the past seven months. I tend to use Adsense in some shape or form on all of my sites – and will continue to do so.

Clickbank, Commission Junction and Affiliate Window

Finally, affiliate amrketing of the information product and tangible product kinds. Whether you have your own product or not I find the best way to add value to my customers is to offer products from other suppliers to compliment my own.

So that’s my models in a nutshell – now I need some goals…
