Brainstorm keyword ideas with the help of the Google Adwords tool
Brainstorm keyword ideas with the help of the Google Adwords tool
Mar 01Today is Day 6 in the Adsense 101 Bootcamp and Steve has produced some helpful videos all about keyword research.
I was doing my homework for today and remembered a ‘trick’ I had discovered for generating seed keyword lists. I thought I’d share it here for you.
- Search Google for your niche and find two or three information authority websites. Note down their URLs and then head over to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
- On the left hand side you’ll see an option for Website Content.
- Check the radio button and then paste the first URL in the box that appears. Check the box underneath it so that it searches more than the homepage.
- Now click the Get Keyword Ideas button.
- Up pops a whole list of keywords based on the content of that site.
- Use the Choose/Hide column to display drop down to filter the content so you can see the advertiser competition, global monthly searches and CPC.
- Scroll to the bottom and select export all to CSV/Excel
- Then rinse and repeat with your other websites that you found.
Simple! Give it a try and see how it works for you.
If you have any keyword brainstorming/generation tips you’d like to share I’d love to hear them – that’s what the comments box is for
I just found out about that trick too. I did use it in another way. I imputted my biggest niche blogs, that makes me the most money. I have around 70 posts live on it, and don’t write much about it, because, I thought, there weren’t any good keywords left. Well, I’ll be damned, with this trick I found 60 more keywords I haven’t used to write posts around and all those keywords have between 500 and 13000 EXACT searches and all of those have less then 50000 competition when searched in phrase. I just love that trick
BTW, love your new style

Great minds think alike – I searched on my own website and found some nice keywords too. I think whenever anyone is stuck for content ideas they should just use the Google Keyword Tool on their own site to generate some!
