WP Exit – Exchange your product for backlinks

I just came across an interesting WP plugin called WP Exit. I don’t know how many of you sell products on your website but I’m sure like me you have a lot of people make it to the sales page and then click away. This nifty little plugin tracks those visitors and when they leave without buying it offers them the product for free in return for promoting it for you.

So you ask the visitor to post links on say Twitter or Facebook linking back to your site and to let you know when they have done so. Then they get the product for ‘free’. How much are backlinks worth to you?

It’s just shy of $10 and I think it may well be worth testing out.

I don't know, I think it would 'cheapen' your product, and after a while it will get known, so lot's of people will start abusing it to get the product for free. That's my idea off course

There is that - but from the other viewpoint it could also drive more people into your sales funnel. If your first product is say a $7 ebook but there is a OTO for a more expensive audio/video or membership site option then you could see more sales over time.
