The Hustle Project: Developing my online business

A couple of months back I stumbled across Corbett Barr and his Think Traffic website, he talks a lot of sense so when I saw a post on his blog about a new Mastermind Group he was running with Adam Baker I decided it was time to make an investment in my business and signed up.

The Group is called The Hustle Project and it’s just a group of people who are trying to build online businesses being “mentored” by these two great guys who are successful – really successful – in their online activities. Every couple of weeks they run a really insightful webinar talking about various stages of a business strategy and sharing their own experiences of what worked for them.

So anyway, enough background, we’re a few weeks in and so far I’ve been “thinking” about the homework tasks they’ve set, but I’ve not done anything concrete. So as this is supposed to be my accountability journal I’m going to start documenting my homework tasks here.

Are you new to Internet Marketing? Read this before you do anything else…

If you are new to this brave new world of Internet Marketing then let me tell you something for nothing. This industry is full of sharks!

They disguise themselves as Gurus and they will take you money like candy from a baby in an effort to sell you some hyped up information product or course or magic software that will make you rich while you sleep.

Being Accountable – maybe it’s time to start blogging again…

These past few weeks I’ve been feeling a little depressed about everything to do with Internet Marketing. In the second half of 2010 I really had my nose to the grind stone, focusing on learning everything there was to know about making money with Amazon. And it was working too, my Amazon commissions increased substantially and I thought I’d finally figured out the secret to making money online.

Then a couple of weeks ago my Amazon commissions came down with a bump… and so did I. Into the IM doldrums again.

Of course I know exactly what happened, I was coasting along making a decent amount of money on the back of just two or three product reviews and I took my eye off the ball and got complacent. The competition on the other hand had their eye on the ball, and as they toppled me from my top spots in Google my commissions went down the pan.

So what did I do next? Read the rest of Being Accountable – maybe it’s time to start blogging again…

I’ve been working on the sales page for the Penthesilea Blueprint this week and really struggling to find some buttons and graphics that will give it the wow factor without costing me an absolute fortune. I’m pretty handy with PhotoShop, but I just don’t have the time to spend creating graphics myself, so I was pretty excited when one of my friends told me about the Marketing Graphics Toolkit, it’s packed full of some pretty amazing looking graphics, and it’s less than $10!
