How to Use Google Analytics with WordPress
I’m a big fan of Google Analytics; if you’re going to build a successful website then you need to monitor your site’s traffic, visitors and incoming keywords and how better to do it than with Google’s free analytics tool?
Of course I know some people will disagree with me, they’ll tell you that you shouldn’t let Google know everything about your site as it can adversely affect your rankings. Personally I think if you don’t want Google to know about your site then you’re dabbling in Black Hat methods. Which is fine of course if that’s what you choose to do. But if you’re doing things straight up then I think you can help your rankings by letting Google have the insider track on your website.
Anyway, enough about that, if you’re reading this article then I assume you’ve already decided to go down this route and you just want to know how to use Google Analytics with Wordpress.

I’ve just found out about a very interesting set of WordPress plugins that have been packaged together to create Auto Link Juicer.
The “Auto Link Juicer System” has been designed to optimize your blog’s internal linking structure to ensure that you’re not sending the Spiders on a wild goose chase and linking important page rank to your housekeeping pages.
The launch date for this plugin set is May 17th, and I’ll be picking up my copy on that day so that I can see whether these plugins are as great as the pre-launch hype is suggesting. And if they are then I’ll let you know so make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed so you don’t miss the Auto Link Juicer Review.
Are you giving your links the right priority?
Quick post today because I just read something that I thought you should see too. It’s a post all about First Link Priority, and how to make sure you’re not losing any back-linking juice. I’ve just added this task to my ever-growing to do list! I’ll be bearing it in mind for future theme development too.
The Trials and Tribulations of Video Recording and Publishing
One of my Penthesilea members was having trouble following my written Theme Installation instructions this week, so I decided it was finally time to add video walk throughs to the Member Zone.
I’m a Mac user, and I’m not ready to shell out for Camtasia so I use Screenium for screen capture videos. It’s a great piece of software and really easy to use. Problem is that I recorded the video in a lossless format since it said it used less computer resource during recording time.
The resulting videos were really crisp and clear – but they were also over 1GB in size! Click here to find out what I did to solve the problem

How to Test Other Browsers in Safari
I’m a Mac user and I’m perfectly happy with Safari as my default browser, but when I was busy coding the Penthesilea theme earlier this year I had to keep booting up my cranky old PC laptop to see what the site looked like in Internet Explorer. I even spent some time switching between versions of IE to make sure the theme was backwards compatible.
I know there are websites you can use to render your website in different browsers, but just getting a screenshot of the homepage isn’t all that useful.
So imagine my surprise when I just discovered that Safari has a Developer feature that lets you switch between browser types right here in the Mac browser. Duh!
All you need to do to activate it is go into Preferences, select the Advanced tab and check that little box at the bottom that says “Show Develop menu in menu bar”.
Then when you want to test different browser views you can just select them from the new Develop tab that appears!
